ABOUT

First off, thank you for visiting my site! This page serves as my about me as well as answering a few frequently asked questions. For further information, please visit the contact forum.

I’ll openly admit that even I have struggled writing this portion of this website.

How do you take one person’s identity and accomplishments and condense it into a few lines that sums up all of who they are? Not only is it uncomfortable telling you all that I encompass, but to be frank, I don’t know and I’m still figuring it out.

“What is Sad Girl”

Focusing primarily on documenting my ongoing involvement in the sport and community of Muay Thai, All Things Sad Girl is an archive of my passions and the knowledge gained from various experiences throughout my life. This platform is a way to begin bringing an underrepresented voice to the table by providing a personal take on mental, emotional, and physical wellness.

Note: I am not licensed in any of those fields, this is purely my own interpretation. Please seek professional help if needed.

“Who is Sad Girl?”

The basic start of who Sad Girl is that she’s got a wheelbarrow full of feelings and has carted them around since as long as she can remember. Stockpiling them all from the bottom up and trudging them along everywhere she’s gone; the good, the bad, and the heavy, they’ve all come with her.

When the wheelbarrow starts to get too full, writing has been the outlet. Whether it be drawings, to do lists, diary entries, scribbles, or photos, I’ve always been drawn (pun intended) to documenting my place in time. Fearful that one day I will have lost that memory and left with no way to regain it.

I like to think of it as my version of little souvenir figurines that have the name of a city you once visited. Something tangible to hold onto and look back on. Can’t bear to part ways with, yet continue to purchase; even though you probably don’t need any more, and you’re starting to run out of space. The only difference now, aside from upgrading from paper to the internet, is that I’m finally allowing people to view my collection first hand.

We all have our own wheelbarrows we walk through life with. Some need filling and others need a better way to distribute the weight. The challenges I’ve faced in my milestones makes me who I am today, and now I’m putting my fears to the wayside and allowing people to see it.

So, going back to the question at hand, WHO is Sad Girl???’. In short, you’ll have to find out for yourself because Sad Girl isn’t only me, it’s you.

‘When does Sad Girl get updated?’

Curiosity of the Month will be posted every first of the month at 3pm CST. Each blog post is ever changing at the moment as I’m figuring out what schedule works best. Any updates will be notified via Instagram, so be sure to follow!

‘I’m not a girl, can I still read it?’

ABSOLUTELY! Anyone can be a sad girl! All Things Sad Girl, is a direct reflection of me as a hetero, cis, POC, woman, navigating this life, however it is open to any and all who are interested regardless of background.

All Things Sad Girl is an inclusive space and does not stand for any racism, sexism, homophobia, or violence (except the consensual kind) on this platform. There is enough of that in the world, and has no tolerance for it on this site. Enjoy what it has to offer and don’t be a jerk.
